چکیده

Abstract Vacuum-forming is a common manufacturing technique for constructing thin plastic shell products by pressing heated sheets onto mold using atmospheric pressure. ubiquitous in packaging and casing the industry, spanning fast moving consumer goods to connected devices. Integrating advanced functionality, which may include sensing, computation communication, within structures desirable various next-generation interactive Hybrid additive techniques like thermoforming are becoming popular prototyping freeform surfaces owing their design flexibility, speed cost-effectiveness. This paper presents new hybrid method thin, rigid free-form interconnected via fused deposition modelling (FDM) 3D printing vacuum-forming that builds on recent advances circuits. sheet material allows embedding of conductive traces layers substrate, can be vacuum-formed but remain insulated. an unexplored fabrication context designing things. In addition explaining method, this characterizes behavior printed sheets, analyses electrical performance after vacuum-forming, showcases range sample artefacts constructed technique. addition, describes interface conformal interconnects designers draw patterns export pre-distorted models ready printed.

3D-Printed Self-Folding Electronics.

Self-transforming structures are gaining prominence due to their general ability to adopt programmed shapes each tailored for specific functions. Composites that self-fold have so far relied on using the stimuli-responsive mechanisms focusing on reversible shape change. Integrating additional functions within these composites can rapidly enhance their practical applicability; however, this rema...

3D Free-form Modeling with Variational Surfaces

We describe a free-form stroke-based modeling system where objects are primarily represented by means of variational surfaces. Although similar systems have been described in recent years, our approach achieves both a good performance and reduced surface leak problems by employing a coarse mesh as support for constraint points. The prototype implements an adequate set of modeling operations, “u...

3D Interactive Free Form Deformations for Facial Expressions

Computer simulation of human facial expressions requires an interactive ability to create arbitrary faces and to provide a controlled simulation of expressions on these faces. The system described in this paper presents the interactive facilities for simulating abstract muscle actions using Free Form Deformations (FFD). The particular muscle action is simulated as the displacement of the contro...
